Here was my Scripture reading from this morning:
Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare His own Son, but freely gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him generously give us all things?”
Here are my thoughts:
It’s already yours. He has already given you whatever you need in the form of Christ Jesus. Think about it. What do you need? Peace? How can the God who gave you His perfect Son begrudge you a heart of peace? In fact, through this great Gift of Himself, He floods our hearts with peace.
Do you desire courage? He allowed His Son to know the shame of savage beatings at the hands of His own creation….for you. Would He waste that priceless sacrifice to leave you in fear? No, the courage you need has been hand delivered, scars and all.
Are you asking for patience? Endurance? Look into the face of the Gift. The endurance of suffering was indeed part of the great Gift. Would He not supply you with overwhelming patience to endure your own hardships? What seems hard to endure fades when held up against the Great Endurance of your greatest Gift.
Does your heart seem cold and you ask for more love? If you need more love, then you are not fully aware of the love the Father has given us. When you understand what it means to be loved by the Father, through Jesus, your heart is overwhelmed with love for people who don’t look, talk or smell like you. When you struggle to open your arms to others it is because your heart is closed off from the Father’s love.
What do you need? Do you know the Father has given you the ultimate gift? In Jesus then, yes, IN Jesus we find an impossibility for the Father to refuse His child. He generously has given you exactly what you need. Pick it up, wear, it, live it, love it. It’s yours.
