Yesterday when we left for school, Ginny told me that Seven was not acting right. I went to take a look at him and sure enough, he did not even look up at me from the laundry basket bed that Ginny made for him in the front porch.
Very unusual for Seven, named for his seven toes, who is usually around our legs stretching and looking for a pat on the head. When Wayne got home yesterday, he called me to deliver the sad news that Seven was in the back yard and was not long for this world. Wayne has always taken the responsibility of internment of the pets. So he lovingly laid Seven to rest and we were sad. Not crying sad, but pause, frown and heavy heart sad for a little while.
So long Seven, I will miss you. I say so long because I, for one, believe that animals, particularly those we love as out pet/children, will be waiting to greet us in heaven.
How do I know? Well, it’s just like the God that loves me, to do something like that.
