To My Oldest Daughter

I like it.

It’s pretty large.

Your Daddy, on the other hand, is not quite so excited.

He has been singing “The Anchor Holds” for the last week. Seriously, I think he breaks out in song to relieve his inner stress but it’s killing the rest of us.  Ginny and I just sort of groan when he breaks out in song. You know how he gets at night, in the kitchen, grabbing anyone close by to hug and sing to.

Thank you for not  doing anything to your pretty face, neck , arms or other prominent part of your anatomy.

If you so much as whimper when I give you your flu shot this year I will beat your fanny.

That’s enough, OK? Nothing wrong with making a statement, but no need to wear an entire thesis.

I love you.
